I thought the jumper would be quite thick and warm and the closeup photo looked like that, but in fact it is quite loose knit and not what I had hoped for
Oh how I loved this jumper when I bought it, and I got so many compliments. The neck stitching was a bit clumsy and it was big but I loved it. BUT the wool is fragile, several holes appeared quite quickly, especially along the seams, it pilled badly too. I thought it would be a "heritage" type purchase, I have donegal jumpers that are several years old, but sadly, after what I think is only light wear, it will be retired...
I have taken a risk on this as I bought a navy float stitch donegal jumper 3 years ago which did not wear well at all, even though the design was lovely. My oatmeal statement donegal jumper which I bought nearly 4 years ago has lasted much better and I can still wear it! Anyway this Icelandic blue jumper is a lovely colour and I'm looking forward to wearing it. It is the same size as my oatmeal jumper, but a little longer.
I wanted to write a review of this jumper as so many of the reviews I read almost led me to not buying it! So I wanted to explain this jumper further! The main complaint from buyers is that the jumper is thinner and flatter than expected. This is true. The online image of the jumper gives you the impression it is a big, thick jumper that you would wear on a cliff-top walk in January! So I too was a bit disappointed at first. But I quickly realised that being a thinner knit meant I could wear it inside, in our (usually) centrally heated houses in a way that I would not have been able to do if it was of the thick, chunky variety. And it is a lovely looking jumper. I have the Icelandic Blue which is a great combination of colours. The wood is non-itchy and I can wear it with just a t-shirt underneath. The float stitches are a bit of a worry - so far so good, but I haven’t washed it yet and do worry that at some stage these stitches might break/pull. Sizing as usual is on the large size. I am an ‘old’ size 14 and the Small is roomy on me, but comfortable. I don’t know how very slim people find a jumper that fits these days!
I bought the Damson colour in size M, I'm a uk size 12 and usually buy a 14 as I like my clothes loose. The M is roomy,I'd say it's the equivalent of a 16. I absolutely love the colour and pattern, although I have to say the float stitches are fragile, a dog jumped up at me and tore several of the blue stitches on the arm with his claws. As others have said, the neck is in four parts which seems strange, but I still love it.
This the second jumper in this style that I have purchased. The first one was a couple of years ago and was of much better quality. The one I have recently bought is much thinner without the weight the other one had. I am a bit disappointed as it is quite expensive.
Brilliant jumper. Very light and easy to wear. Absolutely beautiful.
Bought two of these in different colours as I love the design. But I sent them Both back and got a refund. The quality is poor. The jumpers are thin and flat/floppy. They have bern overpressed and it has made them limp. Not warm. Company issued a full refund instantly. Thank you. Such a shame about the quality as I lived the design but I didn’t think they were worth the price charged.

Thank you for your review. I am sorry to hear that you were unhappy with the quality of your Float Stick Donegal Jumper and will pass your comments on to our product team. Many thanks, Celtic & Co
Quite a lot bigger than my last medium jumper but I like it nice and roomy. I am 5’6” so I am happy with the longer length .
